Largely self-taught, John’s natural gift for drawing and painting was evident from a young age and has been nurtured through a lifetime of dedication, study, and exploration. His artistic influences span centuries and cultures, reflecting his passion for both ancient traditions and contemporary expression.
A California native, John grew up first in the forests of the north before moving to the coast as a teenager, where the ocean became a lifelong inspiration. His extensive travels around the world have shaped a deep appreciation for different cultures and the beauty of our shared planet.
John’s paintings are held in collections and sanctuaries across the globe—from Africa and the Americas to Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and beyond. His art carries an intention to uplift and heal, resonating deeply wherever it is placed.
For over twenty years, John has been a cherished presence at our Yogashala. His connection with Dennis Dean and Yoga Mandiram runs deep—rooted in friendship, mutual inspiration, and shared dedication to the path of healing and awakening. He is not only a supporter but an integral part of the extended Yoga Mandiram community.
