Hi Friend,
The body seems to be able to say just what it needs and when I say body I mean that in the largest sense. For me it’s the body of the universe itself, mirrored within our own inner landscape — an intelligent current of energy that moves through galaxies and through our very marrow with the same unbroken wisdom.
To sense this current requires solitude — not isolation, but the quiet turning inward that happens when we are alone with ourselves and with nature. The trees, the wind, the open sky become mirrors of our own inner landscape, reminding us that the vastness outside is the same vastness within. In this stillness, body and universe meet, and we begin to recognize that our true nature is inseparable from the greater fabric of life.
And in the midst of all this vastness, I feel I can laugh. Yes, Dennis the man with the overdeveloped sense of seriousness. Laughing with the universe— just look at the crooked branch, the sudden gust of wind, or the way your own body wobbles in a pose you thought you had mastered. Allow yourself to lighten up and be filled with joy, knowing that you are not separate but moving in rhythm with nature.
To smile with the body of the universe is perhaps the deepest wisdom of all.
